For over 300 years, eight generations of the Warde family have called the Squerryes Estate home. What has remained a constant throughout, is an unbreakable, strong ethos that stems from our family motto: 'Licet Esse Beatis' - it is permitted to be joyful. In welcoming you to our ancestral home, estate and winery, our priority is to ensure that you take with you a joyful, lasting memory of all that is unique to Squerryes.
Just 20 miles from central London, Squerryes is a 2,500 acre working estate, comprising of woodlands, arable farms, vineyard, an ancestral home and a winery producing award-winning sparkling wines. At the heart of the estate is Squerryes Court, built in the late 17th century. Surrounded by formal gardens, a lake and woodlands, the house is steeped in history and filled with a fine collection of European and English heirlooms.
Bought by John Warde in 1731, the house today is home to eight generation, Henry Warde, his wife Claire and their 4 children. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from the production of our wine to the ingredients sourced for our restaurant. Creating future joy is our over-riding philosophy and something we look to achieve across the estate.
With sustainability at the heart of all that we do, our Chef draws on livestock reared on the estate, produce foraged from its woodlands and fields, as well as handpicked local producers within a 30 mile radius. From a three course set menu to a tasting experience or a hearty rustic meal served at the working vineyard, you can taste the passion in each dish, from canapés to dessert.
Of course, being a working vineyard, wine plays just as an important part of our hospitality with our vintage sparkling wines making the perfect accompaniment to your meal. We also have an extensive wine list, curated by our resident Master of Wine, to offer a tasting experience to compliment every course.
Our aim is to work with you to curate a bespoke event to suit your company's requirements. Whether you're looking for an off-site business meeting venue, team building activities or a celebration event, we can offer board room facilities, hospitality from formal dining to relaxed barbecues and afternoon teas, with vineyard tours, estate activities and tutored wine tasting to make your day unique.
With a 2,500 acre estate at our disposal, we are able to offer a range of activities from the unique and unusual to refined or adventurous.
