French Cheese and Sparkling Wine Vineyard Tour and Tasting

Traditional French cheeses are prized for their complexity, flavour and unique character. Whilst the light touch and lively acidity of a sparkling wine can balance out those complexities and help to boost the flavours.

Join us on this unique cheese and wine tasting event, to discover why these two geographical neighbours make the perfect pairing companions.

You will learn about acidity, fat, texture, sweetness and how to balance these elements among a variety of French cheeses and English wines, including four sparkling wines, made at Squerryes in the traditional method.

Guided Tour of the Vineyard

Your evening begins with a guided tour of the vineyard, where you will learn about the 300-year-old Squerryes estate and its fascinating history. Having learnt about the spirit of the terroir, you will then return to the Cork Room, with its magnificent views across this beautiful corner of the Garden of England.

It is here where you will discover how Squerryes’ exceptional, award-winning sparkling wines pair so well with French cheeses, in a tutored tasting of six beautiful cheeses and six vintage sparkling wines.

Exclusive cheese and wine tasting is available to everyone.

This is a wonderful way to enhance your Academy of Cheese studies, as all the cheeses being tasted are part of the Level One and Two list. However, the event is open to everyone, regardless of whether they have studied with the Academy or not.

There are 25 spaces available. We reserve the right to cancel the event due to lack of numbers or circumstances beyond our control, in which instance, a full refund will be made.
