Nothing brings us more joy than having recognition for our wines, especially when it's international recognition from this year's Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA), one of the most prestigious and globally respected wine competitions. It is judged by over 200 of the world’s leading wine experts, including Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers, DWWA 2025 and saw more than 18,000 wines entered from 57 countries.
Now in its 21st year, the awards are renowned for spotlighting wines of exceptional quality from across the globe. The sparkling wine category was opened up to wines other than Champagne for the first time this year and one clear trend emerged - traditional method sparkling wines from outside Champagne are commanding increasing international attention, putting the UK firmly on the map among the world’s most exciting wine regions.
Against this backdrop, we were delighted to be awarded the following:
“We are delighted to receive this recognition from Decanter, which is trusted across the world,” said Henry Warde, Estate Owner and Director of Squerryes. “Our high-altitude Kent vineyard produces wines that improve beautifully with age, and the 2015 magnum is no exception. These awards reflect the passion and commitment of our winemaking team.”
All three wines are available from The Cellar Door, online, or to enjoy during lunch or dinner at the Winery Restaurant while overlooking the vines. You can also enjoy them from the Vineyard Café during the summer months. For a tutored tasting, visitors can join a wine tasting experience that run Thursday to Sunday throughout the summer and include a guided tour of the vineyard followed by a tasting of three signature sparkling wines.
